Aims and scope

Systemic Analytics is an international, peer-reviewed journal devoted to the promotion and dissemination of original research in Soft Operational Research, systems thinking, and systemic analysis. Our aim is to bridge the gap between theory and practice, enhancing the body of knowledge in these areas and influencing the strategies and decisions of practitioners and researchers across various sectors. We encourage the exploration of innovative methodologies, advanced computational models, and novel applications that contribute to a deeper understanding of complex, real-world problems.

Systemic Analytics covers a comprehensive range of topics within Soft Operational Research, maintaining an equilibrium between theoretical and applied research. The areas covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Soft Operational Research Approaches: This includes problem structuring methods (PSMs), cognitive mapping, strategic choice approach, soft systems methodology, and more. These methodologies focus on facilitating stakeholder engagement, consensus building, and complex problem solving in situations with high uncertainty or multiple perspectives.
  • Systemic Thinking and Analysis: Exploration of systemic theories, methodologies, and tools that enable a more comprehensive understanding of complex systems.
  • Advanced Computational Models and Algorithms: Investigation of modern computational techniques and algorithms in the realm of operational research, including mathematical modelling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and others.
